Karen Godfrey wins European WICE award

Karen Godfrey, SHE manager for Morgan Sindall's Construction business in the North, has been named the Best Woman in Health and Safety by WICE – Women in Construction and Engineering.

Having been nominated by a colleague, Karen underwent an intense review process before being shortlisted alongside seven other women from across Europe.

Karen attended a full day of judging, which included a 10 minute presentation, a 20 minute Q&A with a panel of three judges, and a one-minute speech on why she should win her category.

Karen says: “The process forced me to reflect on my career, you tend to take it for granted how good you are at your job and how people perceive you to be.
“I am so proud to have won Best Woman in Health and Safety. This is a real opportunity for me to use the WICE platform and the prestige of the award to help drive the agenda for women in construction.
“I’m not the first woman from Morgan Sindall to win a WICE Award and I’m sure I won’t be the last. Simply nominating employees for such a reputable award is a huge thank you to them for the hard work and commitment that they show to the company and the industry. What better way to support the development of your employees than facilitating national and European recognition for a job well done!”
