Morgan Sindall Construction’s Northern Home Counties office has been appointed to two significant projects in Bedford and Buckinghamshire.
In Buckinghamshire, the company is delivering a £7.8 million expansion project for Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) to redevelop its waste and recycling services depot on Pembroke Road.
The depot’s new facilities will include a workshop, office facilities, a vehicle wash and an MOT testing centre.
Morgan Sindall Construction was selected for the project via the Southern Construction Framework, which is available as a vehicle for public bodies in the South of England to procure major building works.
In Bedford, the company has started work to deliver a £7.1 million project to redesign and refurbish Goldington Academy, for the Department of Education (DfE).
The project, which will provide an additional 150 school places, will see the main classroom buildings undergo extensive mechanical and electrical renovation, with new ceilings, floors and decoration. The school will also benefit from upgraded ventilation, air conditioning and heat recovery systems.
Morgan Sindall Construction is well versed in successfully delivering key projects for clients across the region. The recent appointments build on this reputation and experience and are the latest in a number of developments the company has delivered for AVDC and the Department for Education.
Other successful schemes the company has delivered for AVDC, include a £16.5 million education centre, University Campus Aylesbury Vale (UCAV), housed by a partnership between Aylesbury College and Buckinghamshire New University.
The company is also a trusted provider of outstanding school buildings across the region and has also delivered a number of key education projects for the DfE.
David Rowsell, area director for Morgan Sindall Construction, said: “We are proud to have been appointed to these two schemes, which will enhance the facilities available for communities across Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
“Morgan Sindall Construction has a longstanding history of delivering key projects across the region. We look forward to continuing to build on this legacy of outstanding delivery and strengthening our positive collaborative relationships with both the Department for Education and Aylesbury Vale District Council.”
Work is expected to complete on the waste and recycling services depot by autumn 2020, while the Goldington Academy expansion project will complete in spring 2021.
