News |

Morgan Sindall Construction has completed work on a new £4 million Royal Mail distribution depot in Greenford, Middlesex.

The 40,000 sq. ft warehouse unit will be used as a postal sorting base and has been delivered for developers, Lothbury Property Trust Ltd. The steel portal-frame building has an innovative Euroclad, built-up standing seam roof system with composite wall panels, and barrel vault roof lights.

The project team also delivered three flood-lit external car parks with capacity for 128 operational vehicles and 36 staff vehicles. The warehouse unit is partially powered by photovoltaic panels and the project is targeting a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of Excellent.

Sean Bradley, managing director of Morgan Sindall Construction’s London and Home Counties region, said: “We’re pleased to have successfully delivered this key distribution depot. Our project team worked closely with Lothbury Property Trust Ltd on this development which will act as a nerve centre for Royal Mail postal services in London.”

Elsewhere in London, Morgan Sindall Construction is nearing completion on a major £70 million regeneration project in Brixton, which forms part of the Your New Town Hall scheme for urban regeneration specialist and national developer, Muse Developments, and project partner Lambeth Council.

As part of the scheme, the company has completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the Grade II listed Brixton Town Hall, to create a more open and accessible building for residents and local businesses. Alongside this, Morgan Sindall Construction is nearing completion on a new energy efficient civic building with a customer centre and council offices. The new six-storey building will provide 11,000 sq m of council office space.
