St Luke’s Treatment Centre

Our Approach

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust identified a crucial requirement for a new healthcare facility to accommodate centralised services. The aim was to deliver a high quality clinical environment with a range of specialist healthcare services that had previously been provided across a number of sites within the district.

The new 2,150 square metre building is home to office space and a number of clinical departments – outpatients, physiotherapy, GP surgery, minor injuries unit, X-ray, mental health, podiatry and community services. The scheme employed the latest clinical standards, in conjunction with patient and staff-focused clinical design and enhanced landscaping, to provide a state-of-the-art hospital.

Improving the environment

The project was designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, and used the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Green Guide specification for all material choices. The building features rainwater harvesting systems, localised Passive Infra-Red (PIR) operated solenoids, roof-based photovoltaics and air source heat pumps as part of a sustainable approach to design.

Rugby Union legend, Martin Johnson CBE, who officially opened the treatment centre said: The facility is a great asset for the people of Market Harborough and the surrounding areas and offers so many vital healthcare services in a single location. As a local resident, it's reassuring to know that if I or any of my family needs care, there is a fantastic healthcare service on our doorstep.
