We recognise that creating a more educated and flexible workforce depends on a skills system focused on the needs of local employers.

These skills can only be provided if colleges are vibrant and operate with suitable and appropriate buildings and facilities, fitted with modern equipment and machinery used in workplaces across the country. The South Essex College campus in the centre of Basildon, Essex, boasts three floors of teaching areas suitable for students to study a rich curriculum of IT, games design and animation courses, as well as break areas and a café, to provide up to 500 students with a contemporary and innovative landscape to learn and relax.
