Creating attractive environments for people to be healthy and happy

In order to create environments which are both attractive and engaging requires strict adherence to timescales, close cost control to maximise return on investment and flexible design to future proof the facilities.

Having delivered over £250 million worth of leisure projects in the last five years, we have an acute understanding of the key requirements for your projects.

Slough Urban Renewal

Whether this be a refurbishment of your existing facilities, a new extension or a brand new leisure centre, our early engagement could help save time and cost.

By working closely with the client, developer and consultant teams, we can deliver facilities that not only provide excellent returns on investment, but ones that help people to stay healthy, active and happy.

Upgrading leisure facilities to aid economic recovery

Covid-19 may have triggered action but the call for more investment in public leisure facilities began long before 2020. A report from the Local Government Association in January found 63% of sports halls and swimming pools were more than 10 years old; one in four had not been refurbished in over two decades.

As local leaders and policymakers look to maximise the public purse in the months ahead, the compound effect of investing in community sport and physical activity should be considered. Sport England and Sheffield Hallam University estimate that every £1 spent in this space returns almost £4 for the UK economy. Perhaps more importantly, overall investment in the sector has the potential to elicit wider social value of more than £72bn a year, measured against health, wellbeing and community development. Many of our projects, such as Hackney Leisure Centre, have demonstrated the social value that building leisure facilities can bring at all points in the construction journey.
