Our work with our supply chain partners

Our suppliers are committed to demonstrating social value.

The Social Value Bank and LM3 (Local Multiplier 3) are tools we use to report on how we increase the social, economic and environmental wellbeing through our construction activities. This data includes significant contribution from our supply chain partners, detailing their contribution to community engagement, environmental, employment and skills training programmes and local material and labour supply used as part of our project delivey.

We’re proud to have been awarded the Living Wage Employer accreditation in October 2020. This can only also be achieved through the support our supply chain partners have given to this accreditation, and their commitment to delivering a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work and a dedication to improving employer standards in the construction industry.

Enhancing skills and development in the industry

Launched in 2012, Morgan Sindall Group is a founding member of Supply Chain Sustainability School, a platform set up in conjunction with some of our peers to help the industry’s supply chain develop its sustainability skills.

The school provides a free learning environment, upskilling those working within, or aspiring to work within the built environment sector. The resource allows members to access online and in-person learning in five main top areas: sustainability, offsite, BIM, lean construction and management.

Supporting UK business

We continue to be proud of our financial position and our contribution to parent company Morgan Sindall Group plc and continue to support the Prompt Payment Code. Our strong balance sheet, with net cash throughout the year is a differentiator for us as a business. This in turn gives our suppliers and customers confidence that we are a strong and sustainable business, with the ability to deliver.

Morgan Sindall Group’s relationships with its supply chain partners are of strategic importance and its actions and behaviours towards them during these challenging times are viewed as key to the Group’s future success. Consequently, the prompt payment of its suppliers has remained a major area of focus throughout the period and even more so against the current backdrop of COVID-19. Rewarding good performance

We believe in rewarding our suppliers for the work they do to help us deliver to a consistently high standard. Just some of this in recognition includes, rewarding our suppliers with preferred status to awarding Perfect Delivery to our suppliers in recognition of their contribution to the project and striving to create exceptional experiences for our customers.

Our regions hold supply chain awards, recognising our suppliers in key categories such as Innovation, Safety and Social Value. In 2020, we launched our first national supply chain awards, which shortlisted our regional winners and recognised outstanding achievement on a national level. Although we couldn’t celebrate in person, we’re looking forward to future events!
